Stony Brook University returns from the ACHA showcase in Springfield, IL where they went 2-1 against top competition in the ACHA. The Seawolves were devastated by a 5-0 loss to Ohio in their opening game in the showcase. Stony Brook bounced back to defeat University of Central Oklahoma 5-2 and University of Arizona 5-3 with an empty net goal.

While the Seawolves were scoreless against Ohio, that could not be said about their games against Central Oklahoma and Arizona. Cacciotti opened the books against Central Oklahoma with a short handed goal, followed by a pair of goals from Collins--one on the power play. In the 3rd period Brewster lit the lamp early, and Ryan closed the game out with a power play goal with 0:46 on the clock. Chris Hausel faced 23 shots, only letting 2 get by.

In the Seawolves final game of the showcase against Arizona, Stony Brook put up another 5 goals to defeat Arizona. The scoring stemmed from Cassano, who scored early in the first period. Elfant would give the Seawolves the lead again in the second period, and Hawkins found the back of the net with a power play goal to put the Seawolves back on top. A goal from Montgomery put Stony Brook up by 2, and Cassano's empty net goal guaranteed a Stony Brook Victory. Josh Brand played well, stopping 29 of 32 Arizona shots.

The Seawolves, now 4-1 return home this weekend to take on Lebanon Valley at The Rinx. Tickets to Saturday's game are available at the door. $5 general admission, and $3 for students and kids.
