Seawolves Second Half Begins

After a month off the Stony Brook Seawolves are looking forward to getting back on the ice this coming weekend when they face off against #15 Liberty University at home on Saturday 1/8 at 8pm and again on Sunday 1/9 at 12 noon. The Seawolves finished the first half of the season 11-9 and ranked #16 in the country. When the Seawolves played Liberty earlier in the year they won the first game 6-3 and lost the second game 4-2. Liberty usually has around 2,000 fans at each of their home games and when Assistant Coach Colin Brumsted was asked how important the fans are he said "they make a huge impact and can really give the home team an advantage". When coach Garofalo was asked about his expectations for the second half of the season he said "The break was good for the players and feel it allowed them to recharge their batteries for the second half. With the players in our locker room and a few new additions I feel we have a really good shot at winning our league championship and nationals. However right now we are focusing on playing Liberty and taking it one game at a time". Coach Garofalo also said "The team really can use the support of the fans and we hope this weekend we can match the turnout Liberty gets at their home games".
